FACULTY OF DESIGN

INTRODUCTION

I run the Faculty of Design at Tabriz Islamic Art University during 2014 to 2016. The first of its kind in Iran, the faculty was established in a 100 years old rennovated factory building in the city of Tabriz. The 3000 square metre building was devided into three sections: the workshops and laboratoriess, the library, and the classes and offices. The building was part of an industrial site, formerly housing the Khosravi Leather Factory as well as the first electricity generator in the city. 

In the course of three years, the faculty became highly successful with:

• High percentage of students receiving offers and completing ther postgraduate studies

• Home of 5 out of 15 finalists of National Industrial Design Olympiads in three consecutive years, winner of two

• Students winning international design awards

• High percentage of students being comployed by local industries
